Jai Jayalalitha !

Kalaignar's Kalai

National Anthem in Tamil in Srilanka!

National Anthem in Tamil - DMK, Mr. Kanrunanithi, CPI(M) Mr.G. Ramakrishnan, DPI - Mr. Thirumavalavan and Pudhiya Thamilagam Dr. Krishnasamy have all shown rightly their concern about scrapping Tamil Version of National Anthem of Sri Lanka.  As a Confused Citizen I could not understand why National Anthem in Tamilnadu is not in Tamil.  Mr. Thirumavalavan has gone to a better extent of claiming that amongst two races in Sri Lanka, Tamil race was the first to Settle there, hence National Anthem should be in Tamil, he argues.  As a Confused Tamilan, I have heard "Kal Thondri Man Thondraa Kaalathe Mun Thondri Mootha Kudi Thamizh Kudi"   (Tamil race has existed even before rocks and stones disintegrated into sand and soil)  Probably this is untrue or Tamil history has been ignored in Indian History especially in the Context of National Anthem.

When the Tamilnadu CM could fly to Delhi to ensure appropriate portfolios in the cabinet  to his family, he could only stage a Hunger-Fasting between Breakfast and Lunch on a cosy Bed surrounded by Air Coolers for the Lives of Sri Lankan National Tamilans.

When they were begging for mercy and protection, nothing happened.  They lost their lives, families, loved ones, homes, freedom, dignity etc.  When a cine actress who went there on her job and helped few of them in her capacity, howling and snorting arose from various quarters.

Seeman, Vaiko etc who had been voicing for their protection have not commented about  the national anthem in Tamil scrapping in Sri Lanka.  I think they do not need any political or any other types of  advantage from this incident.

Tamilans in Sri Lanka do not want your impotent protests.  We know what politicians think about public from the tapes of radia where Kanimozhi says "......Because, see, what people say outside and what actually they mean is very different, and all of us know that in politics… That is, for public appearances we do a lot of things"  YEAH!! THAT EXPLAINS EVERYTHING!!!!!!

THERE IS NEVER A FREE LUNCH ! ! !

I do not know how this saying applies to others.  This is somewhat related to economics, i think.  I have a different version of this saying.

On 29th (of June 2010)  I, along with my audit team headed to Chennai from Panruti to conduct audit for one of my clients.  On the way, we halted at Hotel Highway inn at Madhurandhakam, had our breakfast there.  One of the partners of the hotel is a well known friend of mine.  He instructed the restaurant manager no to bill us.  It was a surprise for our team members.  Haa!  they said, our first transaction on our way to Chennai was not charged !

I remembered the saying, "There is never a free Lunch".  But, he is my friend, he gratiously hosted me a provided our team a free breakfast.  How is this saying going to be real in my case?

But a saying is always a saying!  We were travelling in a hired car.  Our driver is not familiar with the topology of Chennai.  We had to go to a street near Riche Street.  Without taking a left before tarapore towers, our driver headed straight.  I called him and told him that he had crossed the place and asked him to turn left at the next available left.

He tried to turn left at the next signal.  Instantly he recognised that left turn was not allowed and immediately he corrected and came straight only to land in front of a waving police.  Ha, they said, you have violated traffic rules.

We did not violate any rule.  Thinking left was allowed, he slightly turned and corrected instantaneously.  Just a bend.  We tried to explain that we are new to Chennai Traffic and that Local traffic regulations are changing often.  Also we explained that we have not violated any traffic rules. In fact, we did not enter into the no entry road.  Nothing could satisfy them.

Sensing that their argument was losing strength, they turned at the Driver's License.  Our Driver produced the Driver's License, (which was renewed upto the year 2013 during the first week of this month)

The police did not accept the renewal date.  They said that they were going to charge us a fine.  If unable to pay the fine, they said 'your vehicle will be seized'. They were going on accusing our driver for not wearing uniform etc., etc.

Not prepared to argue with them, our driver asked me 50 rupees.  "Sir, give me 50 rupees, there are two beggars here"  I gave him 50 rupees and also one more 100 rupee note, in case they do not accept 50 rupees.

Our Driver gave 50 rupees to those policemen.  They said "Don't  you know that even Chiken is Rs. 150 per kg?"  " Give us at least 100 rupees or pay the fine"  He paid him 100 rupees and was allowed to proceed further.

Ah I paid the breakfast price to these beggars.  I tried to photograph those beggars without their knowledge.  Here are they...........(I am not a journalist!)

THE GOVERNMENT HAS TO BE BLAMED FOR ALLOWING POLICEMEN TO DO AN ADDITIONAL JOB - BEGGING AT THE ROADSIDE!

Newspapers Just do your Job!

Dear friends,

I have been a subscriber to Daily Thanthi (DhinaThanthi) a leading newpaper in Tamilnadu.  For the past 5 days, there has been a large scale violation of law and order, RSS and Hindu Munnani taking the law into their hands and ransacking the establishemnts of nithyanda, in tamilnadu, puducherry, bengaluru and various other parts of India, wherever he had his establishments.

Not a word about this in the newspaper.  The responsibility of a Newspaper is just to give the news as it is got.  You have your editorial to convey your ideas.  Newsroom should not be skewed.  The reader has the right to use his reasoning in accepting or rejecting the views or news published in the paper.

Daily Thanthi is highly comical in nature, and that's why I had it on my teabuoy every morning.  High importance is given to news such as, rape, elope, rowdyism, accidents etc.  Lowest importance is given to news of regional or national importance.  Hence, it is quite natural to expect Daily Thanthi to publish news about this notorious nithyanandha.  Do you think you can shield people who are real culprits?  If the videos were false, Sun Tv will lose its charm and business, otherwise why one should shield such people?

What could I do?  Nothing, I just unsubscribed the paper and looking for a rational Tamil Daily, knowing well that there isn't one!

Prostituting the Position!

MANJITH SINGH BALI , a Post master General has been feeding his wife, children and family out of money got by Prostituting his Position.  Prostituting the position is no less than pimping on family members.  Greed for Money is not uncommon.  But it should be accompanied by hard work. Crores for a Single NOC.  Whither goes India?

Brotherhood and equality is compromised by such cancerous officers.  This happens in a country where there have been reports of suicides due to poverty.  Is this UNITY IN DIVERSITY?

Delayed Enlightenment!

A history-sheeter turned advocate (45- year-old Sampath) was murdered in broad daylight near New Avadi Road by a seven member gang that struck when he was taking his 13-yearold son on his scooter to school on Monday (23/02/2010)

Advocates Association has condemned the killing and has resolved not to offer professional service to the killers.  It is a welcome resolution.  I could not understand why these advocates had so far been serving these killers, drug dealers, pimps etc.

Karunanithi giving a clean chit to sankaracharyas when matter is sub-judice!

The Honorable CM of TN, Shri. M. Karunanidhi has shown scant respect to Juduciary! He has commented about Jayalalitha and her friend in a leading newspaper published on 13-02-2010.  Pointing out that Sankaracharyas have been framed just for having commented about Kumbakonam mahamaham incident!  Whatever be the truth, when a matter is sub-judice, a person of such position is not expected to comment and give a clean verdict to the accused before they are acquitted by the court of law.

Is this not an example of taking laws into their hands?  Long live Indian Democracy.  (I voted DMK in the Last election!)
